The Gunn & Moore maxi protective shorts are a pretty good pair of shorts. i have used them for about 2 seasons before i switched out to the more expensive Aero stripper moulded thigh guard. The GM shorts are made of cotton and are body hugging. They have all the necessary padding in them and offer a thigh pad as well as an inner thigh guard. The one pouch they don’t have is the abdomen protector. therefore you need to either wear a jock strap, underpants or other shorts with an inner liner. So that brings me to my problem with these pads. You will probably get pretty hot and sweaty if you war these. With basically 3 layers of clothing over you family jewels.

So basically i would say that these shorts are pretty good if you are on a budget. If you can afford the more expensive thigh pads then go for them instead. however if you are on a bit of a budget then these shorts will serve you well as i used them for 2 or 3 seasons and they were just fine.

The P1 aero all in one thigh pad is a very good piece of equipment. I just recently started using this thigh pad and am very, very happy with it. I used to use the GM maxi all in one protective shorts but found that i was overheating a lot as the maxi shorts are under your cricket pants and the heat here in texas is quite brutal. The P1 aero thigh pad is a lot better allowing my thigh area to breathe as there is no shorts covering your skin. Here is a short video review of the P1 aero all in one thigh pad.

The gray nicolls star arm guard is a very good arm guard all round. From the material used to the general construction you can be confident that this arm guard is a very good piece of cricket equipment. You will certainly be happy with this purchase.

I found that the gray nicolls arm guard had very comfortable padding & towling on the inside. If i was to use an arm guard, this would probably be the one. It is super comfortable and very light. The gray nicolls arm guard also offer superb protection against those super fast bowlers you will be facing.

The Kookaburra kahuna thigh guard is part of the famous KAHUNA brand that has helped make Kookaburra famous.  The kahuna brand is known for top quality and comfort at the highest level of cricket. This piece of cricket equipment is definitely a super piece of cricket gear and im sure if you purchased this you will be very happy with it. When i was doing this Kookaburra kahuna thigh guard review one thing i noticed was just how light it was and i was very impressed with it.

The Kookaburra players thigh guard is probably kookaburra’s top of the line product. Probably the same sort of deal you get with the Gray Nicolls players range of cricket equipment.

I was not really impressed with this product as it is quite similar to the kookaburra kahuna thigh pad, just with an extra material covering over it. In my opinion it is very similar to the kahuna thigh pad and probably shouldnt spend the extra money as you are pretty much getting the same product. If you have extra money, spend it on the P1 stripper or P2 stripper thigh pads from Aero.

The kookaburra ice thigh guard is part of kookaburra new ice range of cricket gear. Easily noticed by the blue and silver color code given to the kookaburra ice range. The ice range comes in underneath the kahuna range from kookaburra however many of the products are just as good as the kahuna range. i was quite impressed with this kookaburra ice thigh guard as it is probably on par with the kookaburra kahuna thigh guard. I found the ice thigh pad to be well constructed, comfortable and good value for money.
